Welcome to Airbrush Abstracts! I’m Bob Mccormick, a painter based in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, and much of my work is represented by galleries along the Outer Banks. My focus is on abstract surrealist paintings, created mostly using airbrush on a variety of surfaces, including aluminum and synthetic boards. Each piece reflects an ongoing exploration of color, form, and the balance between structure and spontaneity. I don’t start with a finished idea in mind—my process is fluid and intuitive, allowing the work to grow into itself. These paintings often carry layered meanings and visual narratives that invite different interpretations.
My background in surrealism and color theory, shaped by years of formal study and hands-on experimentation, continues to influence my style today. I’ve always believed there’s a point where mind, body, and soul align—and that’s the energy I aim to reflect in my art. If you’re interested in non-representational artwork with a strong technical foundation and a personal story behind every piece, I’d love to connect.
